Accessibility statement
Comenius University Bratislava, Faculty of Arts is committed to making its website informationinteractions.com accessible, in accordance with Act No. 95/2019 Coll. on information technologies in public administration, which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. This accessibility statement applies to the website https://informationinteractions.com/, including its English version.
This statement is drawn up according to the model accessibility statement set out in Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523, in the form prescribed in Slovakia by the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization. The website is operated by the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava, the organiser of the Information Interactions conference.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with Act No. 95/2019 Coll. on information technologies in public administration, which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102, due to the non-compliances listed below.
The technical standard used for the evaluation is WCAG 2.2 at level AA and chapter 9 of EN 301 549.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
Non-compliance with Act No. 95/2019 Coll. and Directive (EU) 2016/2102
- The documents Abstracts 2015 (PDF, 1.1 MB) and Abstracts 2016 (PDF, 830 KB) are not tagged: a screen reader cannot recognise their headings, paragraphs or reading order (EN 301 549 chapter 10; WCAG 1.3.1). They are archive documents from 2015 and 2016, hosted as published.
- The Book of Abstracts 2022 in the Comenius University DSpace repository (PDF, 8.8 MB) is not tagged (WCAG 1.3.1).
- The documents Programme 2014 and Programme 2015 (PDF) declare en-US as their language in the metadata although their text is Slovak and Czech; a screen reader may read them with English pronunciation (WCAG 3.1.1).
- The 2016, 2017 and 2018 programmes declare sk-SK or SK although their text is mostly English (WCAG 3.1.1); six programmes from 2013–2018 carry the metadata title "PowerPoint Presentation" and four documents (Abstracts 2015 and 2016, the 2017 and 2018 books of abstracts) have no title at all, so the browser tab shows the file name (WCAG 2.4.2).
- The other hosted PDF documents are tagged; the quality of the tagging has not been checked.
Disproportionate burden
- We do not rely on the disproportionate burden exemption.
Content outside the scope of the legislation and third-party content
- The registration form is an embedded Google Forms form: third-party content that is neither funded nor controlled by us; its accessibility is determined by Google. The link "Open the registration form (Google Forms)" placed before the embedded form opens the same form outside the frame, without nested scrolling or frame restrictions. If you cannot use the form, we also accept registrations by e-mail at informationinteractions@fphil.uniba.sk with your name, e-mail address and institution.
- The photo albums of the 2017–2025 editions are hosted on Facebook and Flickr, external services outside our control; some albums require a login.
- The 2022–2025 books of abstracts are deposited in the Comenius University DSpace repository (dspace.uniba.sk). The repository interface is not part of this website and this statement does not cover it.
- Third-party content that we link to (for example partner websites, maps, hotels) is not under our control.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on .
The evaluation was carried out as a self-assessment by the website's operator, combining:
- testing of keyboard operation and of the layout at a 320 px viewport width, which corresponds to 400 % zoom,
- automated testing with the axe-core and pa11y (HTML CodeSniffer) tools and an HTML validator on every build of the website,
- colour contrast checks by a script on every build.
The statement was last reviewed on . We update this statement whenever the website changes substantially, and at least once a year.
